So I was in New York visiting with some friends, and by chance my aunt was in town visiting her niece who recently had a baby. She said she hadn’t had any pictures done, so we had a quick shoot the last day before I left. Unfortunately her husband was away on business so we couldn’t get everyone. Chloe is a month old and Aiden is two. It was really cold so we could not head over to Battery Park with Aiden, I think we got some great moments regardless.

YOU are very talented, Joel! You captured the essence of Heather’s family so wonderfully! Felt like I was there!

Hey thanks Kristen and Melissa! Its my goal to capture the moments people want to remember years from now, rather than standard posing.
Melissa
I’m Heather’s cousin. The pictures are so precious; I love the candid moments you captured!

I find it strange that all of the images you’ve posted seem to have been shot with a lens designed to distort. Would/could it be that you’re using a very Wide Angle unit? To me personally, the photos would be much more appealing if they could be viewed in the proper perspective. I understand that photography is subjective, but are people actually willing to pay for this type of imagery?

Everyone has their opinions, as photography is an art which is subjective. My style is intended to photograph slices in time people want to remember how they felt. I personally love my style now and fortunately so do all of my clients and their families as you can see from the comments above:) Thanks for checking out my site.
